Following founder Lucie Macleod's appearance on BBC's Dragons' Den, where Hair Syrup left without securing investment, the brand reached a pivotal moment. While the outcome wasn't what the founder had hoped for, the feedback highlighted the need for a stronger, more distinctive brand identity that could better communicate the product's personality and appeal.
Having previously worked with other designers, Selling Ideas® was brought in to lead a complete rebrand. Our brief was to redefine the visual identity and redesign the product packaging, creating a bold, memorable brand that would stand out in an increasingly competitive market.
The new identity was rolled out across key customer touchpoints, from product labels and packaging to digital channels and marketing collateral, creating a cohesive and recognisable brand presence.
In the months that followed, Hair Syrup experienced a period of significant growth, becoming a viral success and attracting a rapidly expanding customer base. The brand identity developed by Selling Ideas® remained at the heart of the business throughout this period, with the visual system continuing to be used across its packaging and communications as annual turnover reached £10.4 million.
